Hi, my name is Greg Hicks. I was born and raised in the Hunter Valley and so have great respect and understanding for the region and its people. I graduated from Sydney University in 1972 and chose the Royal Newcastle Hospital for my residency and registrar training. I spent the last two years of my post-graduate training in the UK. From 1980, I have been engaged exclusively in private practice firstly in Hamilton and now in Kotara.
I average around 300 deliveries per year and have two Gynaecology operating lists each week at the Newcastle Private Hospital. My qualifications are MBBS, FRCOG and FRANZCOG. My interests lie in all areas of Obstetrics and Gynaecology with special interest in:
Personalised care for the mother and safe delivery of her baby
Rollerball endometrial ablation – for a permanent end to heavy, painful periods
Monarc TVT bladder neck support – for urinary incontinence i.e., 'weak bladder'
Laparoscopy and site specific treatment – for chronic pelvic pain
