Cameras rolling as city plays host to film crew

08 Oct, 2009 07:28 AM
The cameras started rolling at Luskintyre Bridge yesterday as film crews shot scenes for the upcoming blockbuster Tomorrow When the War Began.

Filming will restart on October 23 for three weeks and there will be disruptions to motorists using the bridge.

The bridge is set to feature in several action scenes including army invasion scenes as well as a chase scene.

The movie is based on John Marsden’s best selling book and stars Neighbours actor Caitlin Stasey as lead character Ellie Linton.

The story follows Ellie and a group of seven friends who band together and use guerilla warfare to defend Australia from a foreign invader.

Australian screenwriter Stuart Beattie will make his directorial debut, having previously written for movies such as Australia, Collateral, and Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl.
