Gallery launch to showcase indigenous artists

02 Aug, 2010 08:25 AM
Works of art by indigenous artists will be the centrepiece of a new art gallery at Blaxlands Inn, Pokolbin.

A gallery launch will be held on Thursday at 6pm to showcase powerful contemporary pieces by established and emerging indigenous artists.

Blaxlands Inn licensee Jason Clarke said the engaging art added an extra dimension to the inn.

“It presents the talent of a wide group of Aboriginal artists from the eastern and western deserts of inland Australia,” he said.

Utopian Aboriginal Art co-founder Sonja Chalmers said the new gallery allowed visitors to discover the extraordinary work of indigenous painters.

Complimentary wine and canapes will be served at the gallery opening.

All art will be for sale and can be delivered.
