Police have renewed their appeal for information following the suspicious death of Tammy Sindermann at Greta.
Police are searching bushland in the Wyee area for her husband 42-year-old Darren Fishburn.
Ms Sindermann's body was found at Wyndham Street at 9.30am yesterday by a family member.
The 43-year-old was found lying on the ground in a shed at the back of the house.
Police from the Hunter Valley Local Area Command and NSW Ambulance Paramedics attended the scene.
A crime scene was established and examined by specialist forensic officers.
Strike Force Wintervale has been formed by local police with the assistance of the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad to investigate the woman’s death.
Police are awaiting the results of a post mortem, however, they are treating the woman’s death as suspicious.
Investigators also hold concerns for the welfare of the woman’s husband who has not been seen since the discovery.
The search for Fishburn involves officers from Lake Macquarie and Hunter Valley Local Area Commands with the assistance of the Public Order and Riot Squad and the Police Airwing.
Mr Fishburn is described as Caucasian, with a solid build, short brown hair, goatee beard and piercings in both ears.
It is believed he may be using a red 1989 model Nissan Patrol with NSW registration YAE-923.
