Paterson MP Bob Baldwin will deliver personal messages from constituents who lost a relative or loved one in Papua New Guinea in World War II when he visits the country next week.
The Opposition spokesman for defence science and personnel, and assisting Opposition spokesman for defence will be in Papua New Guinea for talks on defence.
He will also pay tribute to those Australians who fought and died during World War II.
Mr Baldwin will lay wreaths at the Bomana War Cemetery in Port Moresby and the Milne Bay Memorial.
He has offered to deliver tributes from residents whose relatives were buried there, or who were killed in battle but have no known graves.
“These brave soldiers left their homes and their families to fight on foreign soil and to protect Australia’s borders; and
it is our duty to remember them,” Mr Baldwin said.
