Maitland will feature in all three finals of the Hunter Valley Junior Cricket Council representative competitions despite not taking to the field on the weekend.
Maitland’s fifth and final round matches against Cessnock were washed out on Sunday but the under-12s, under-14s and under-16s have qualified following the results of the remaining fixtures.
Tamworth beat Singleton in all three grades at Tamworth on Sunday in the only final round matches to go ahead as scheduled, which ensured Maitland would finish in the top two across the trio of age divisions.
The big movers for Maitland were the under-12s, who finished as minor premiers after believing they were out of contention for the play-offs following their washed out match with Upper Hunter on January 31.
A four-way tie at the top of the leader board (22 points) was split by quotient and Maitland (2.41) will meet Tamworth (1.41) in the decider.
The under-16s also finished as minor premiers and will also take on Tamworth, while it will be the same match up in the under-14s after Maitland finished second due to a superior quotient to Cessnock, two points behind Tamworth.
Maitland will host the finals at Raymond Terrace on January 21 on the same day their senior counterparts play in the John Bull Shield and colts deciders in town.
