Vacy rider Egan Mastin cruised to victory in the 9 to 12-year 85cc class on his home course on Saturday.
Mastin won all three races by a margin of more than 10 seconds in the third round of the 2010 Stadium MX Series at Maitland Showground.
Mastin held a 20-point lead over his nearest rival going into the round, after convincing wins at Bathurst and Orange and he extended his advantage on Saturday.
In the first race he finished in six minutes 35 seconds, 12s in front of Brendan Tanti, who finished second overall.
Mastin went even quicker in the second heat, going under six minutes in the eight-lap race.
By the third race the young flyer was comfortable enough on the course to hit top speed, recording his quickest time of the day with 5m49s.
Medowie’s Dylan Heaton came into the third and final round five points clear in top spot in the 12 to 13-year 85/150cc division and didn’t let up on Saturday.
He won the first two races before taking the foot off the pedal in the final race to finish third in that instance, but first overall.
Heddon Greta rider Caprice Russell placed third in each of Saturday’s races in the women’s division and ended up with third place overall in the series.
Series promoter Phil Sargent, of Kurri Kurri, said the final round was a success despite the fact wet weather kept some spectators away.
“Saturday went off really well,” he said.
“The showers were good to start the day because it firmed up the track, but it might have played a part in the crowd numbers.”
Sargent said the third round drew more than 230 riders to Maitland.
“We were happy with the series overall,” he said.
“We got some good turnouts and holding an event each month worked out well for the riders because they were able to get through a series quickly and concentrate on other events.
“It was good to finish off in Maitland too. We plan to hold the series again in 2011 and we hope to finish off in Maitland again.”
