The memory of Judd Greedy will ride on around the tracks of Australia forever more.
Maitland born and bred, Greedy, who was a prominent rider in the Australian Supersport Series, died while racing in Tasmania in April this year but his legacy will live on well into the future.
A replica of the Suziki GSXR that Greedy raced has been created by sponsor Steve Marshalls and it is on display upstairs at Maitland Leagues Club.
It will hit the road on Saturday to be put on display during the final round of the Australian Superbike Championship at Phillip Island on November 29.
It will also be taken for a memorial lap around the track.
“It is a lovely gesture,” Greedy’s mother Julie said.
“It was a bit overwhelming at first because we had not seen Judd on the bike this year, but they have gone to a lot of trouble.”
It is the second time the bike, which was officially unveiled in Queensland in September, would have been to Phillip Island, after a stopover at the World Moto GP event in October.
Following the racing at Phillip Island later this month, the inaugural Judd Greedy Perpetual Trophy will be awarded to the leading supersport
privateer in the Australian Championships.
Greedy, who would have been 29 on September 14, will be the first name on the trophy after he won the privateers’ award in 2008.
“I miss my boy...he was easy to get along with and this shows how many people he touched,” Greedy’s father Rob said.
The Greedy family would like to thank everyone for their support.
