We are writing to thank you for participating in the annual Hunter World’s Greatest Shave trivia night on March 15, 2008.

Your generous donation to our night was greatly appreciated and thanks to local businesses like the Mercury we were successful in raising more than $16,200 for the Leukaemia Foundation. This fantastic result placed us at number 18 in the 2008 NSW Top 30 World’s Greatest Shave fundraising groups.

More than 200 people from our local community attended our trivia night and each of these attendees were notified of the local businesses who made the night a possibility. We know that without the support of businesses such as yours this fundraiser would not have been such a huge success.

Once again we thank you for helping us to help others who are living with leukaemias, lymphomas, myeloma and other related blood disorders. The money raised will assist patients and their families who are living with these diseases by providing “home away from home” accommodation close to treatment centres, transport to and from hospitals, educational programs, counselling and practical assistance. It will also fund cutting-edge research into better treatments and cures through the national Research Program helping to improve survival rates for adults and children.

The Hunter Valley World’s Greatest Shave trivia night will be held again in 2009. We look forward to your support again next year as we are aiming to raise $20,000 in 2009.
