When the Mamas and Papas crooned that all the leaves were brown and the sky was grey they could easily have been singing about Maitland circa now.
While many of us have enjoyed basking in the warm autumn glow, weather conditions are about to change with temperatures predicted to drop and rain to fall.
“Temperatures have been in the low 20s during the past few weeks, but they are about to drop to 17 or 18 degrees over the next couple of days,” Don White from Weatherwatch said.
Rain is also forecast for Maitland until next Tuesday, but Mr White is confident winter won’t be filled with woe.
“It will be a cool season but nothing out of the ordinary. It’s going to be a fairly normal winter with some sunny days, as well as some rainy ones,” he said. “Rain is also forecast for the first week in June but we’ll have to wait and see what happens.”
