A five-way tie was the talking point at Maitland Federation Centre after the first two days of competition of the Under-16 Women’s NSW Country Tournament.
This logjam occurred in pool A of division two, with Tamworth, Gosford, Canberra, Bathurst and Goulburn all finishing on six competition points.
Each team had recorded two wins and two losses from their four preliminary games, but Tamworth and Gosford ended up top of the pool based on goal differential.
Deciders will take place today after play-offs in each division were contested between the 26 teams yesterday.
Maitland has a division three semi-final meeting with Newcastle at 9am while the Mustangs had also featured in division one.
The Mustangs have 13 teams in action around the state with the under-18 division one and under-14 division three squads flying the flag for the women, while in the men’s draw the under 14s are fairing strongest in both division two and three.
