THE Mercury asked five people at Lochinvar yesterday if they thought the local speed camera was preventing accidents or simply filling state coffers.
They should just get rid of it. It's not doing anything, it's not saving accidents, so why not put it somewhere it will. It's only revenue raising.
Jeff Jackson of Telarah
It's just revenue raising. Once you they get past the camera they speed up again.
Mel Enright of Rutherford
I think it's revenue raising. If they need one anywhere it's Harpers Hill.
Roger Whitney of Lochinvar
It does slow people down. But I don't believe its saving lives. Maybe when people were coming back from 100 but its 80 now.
John Passfield of Lochinvar
Take it away. There is enough signage for school hours. There are too many cameras and only for revenue raising
