But this Sunday she won’t be alone.

More than 500 people are expected to gather at Tocal Homestead for the annual Peek Into The Past extravaganza.

And despite the event’s longevity (about 18 years), Ms Earle said interest shows no sign of waning.

“People keep coming back because they can’t see this stuff anywhere else,” Ms Earle, Peek Into The Past co-ordinator, said.

“It’s nostalgia and that’s the fabulous thing about it.” Grandparents come along and remember a time when kitchens had wood stoves and there were horse and carts, so for them it’s nostalgia.

“For parents it’s interesting and history, and for the kids it’s just brand new stuff. It’s intriguing that people can come to one event and see three different perspectives and everyone sees something that’s of interest, which is really nice.”

This year’s attractions will include the Hunter Valley Concours D’Elegance for horses and ponies in harness and will also showcase a range of artisans’ skills including spinning, quilting, felting, knitting, blacksmithing, sheep shearing and wood turning.
