But accepting her place in the Restaurant and Catering NSW Hall of Fame on Monday night at Star City Casino in Sydney was one that left her feeling overwhelmed.
“It’s a bit mind boggling really,” she said. “I was quite overwhelmed, more so for the people who have preceded me to win the award.
“It’s been going for quite a while and is prestigious and when I look at the calibre of recipients in the past I just think I’m not in their league which is very humbling.”
Those recipients include the Hunter’s Murray Tyrrell and Robert Molines, with Quay Restaurant at The Rocks’ Leon Fink the 2012 recipient.
Ms Woods said she was shocked to be named the 2013 winner.
“The board put names forward for people and I honestly had no idea,” she said. “The national president presented me with the award and had a big spiel about me and it was quite strange having someone else talk about you.
“You certainly do things to get an award like this and it’s very, very special when it happens.”
Ms Woods wanted to thank her team at Bushrangers Bar and Brasserie, Largs and the community for their support.
“We’ve had a lot of texts and Facebook and Twitter messages of congratulations,” she said.
“It’s all been very humbling.”
