More than 400 parishioners are expected to attend the church for the annual Christmas Eve church service.
But this year a couple of goats, a lamb and a donkey will also join the celebrations.
“We always look forward to welcoming hundreds of people to our Christmas Eve family service and this year there will be some additional four-legged guests to help us celebrate Christmas together as we remember the birth of Jesus in a simple stable 2000 years ago,” parish priest Father David Battrick said.
“Christmas Eve at St Peter’s is always lots of fun as parents and grandparents bring children to sing carols together and hear again the story of Jesus, the shepherds, the angels and the wise men.”
At midnight a traditional mass will begin featuring a robed choir.
“Christmas is a time of hope and joy and you don’t need to be a regular church goer to come and celebrate with us. It is a great opportunity to come and enjoy being part of something special in our beautiful church building,” Father Battrick said.
Tonight’s service will start at 6pm.
