The two-time Maitland Sportsperson of the Year and Australia’s youngest Paralympic medallist qualified for the team after taking out the women’s 100 metre freestyle S8 para sport.
Elliott beat eight-time London Paralympic gold medallist Jacqui Freney in the event with a time of 1:06.14.
Freney then turned the tables on Elliott in a separate multi-class final for the same race with Taylor Corry taking gold, Freney silver and Elliott bronze.
This came 24 hours after Elliott broke her own world record in the S8 women’s 50m freestyle event with an effort of 30.13 seconds.
Elliott will attempt to qualify for a second Commonwealth Games event via the 100m breaststroke tomorrow.
