Moxey was honoured at the Maitland District Cricket Association presentation on Saturday night.
And the award has been kept in the family after Moxey’s brother, Jarrod, took home the crown last season.
Moxey had a strong season with both bat and ball for the Pythons, finishing third in the competition batting aggregate with 496 runs at an average of 24.8.
He was also in the top five for bowling, taking 26 wickets at an average of 11 to finish fifth.
Moxey’s Port Stephens teammate James Magnee finished on top of the bowling stats with 38 scalps, while Windsor Castle’s Shayne Bailey topped the runs with 575 at 26.14.
Port Stephens survived two sudden death semi finals to make the decider before knocking off Tenambit Morpeth in the grand final.
Chelmsford Hotel’s Aaron Follan scored the B-grade player of the year award after his team’s excellent season, falling one game short of the grand final.
Michael Wilson added the C-grade player of the year accolade to Windsor Castle’s grand final win over Regal Hunter, while Hayden Ridley was the D-grade player of the year.
Windsor Castle was named the Jack Murray Memorial club champions for the one-day competition.
