Led by former NSW Police Force Senior Sergeant Patrol Commander Rodney O’Regan OAM, the parade was staged in a fitting preview to Anzac Day.
The Australian Light Horse were mounted troops who served in the second Boer War and World War I and combined characteristics of both cavalry and mounted infantry.
Nearby, at Morpeth Gallery, the Anzac Day tribute continued with the opening of the War Horses and War Birds exhibition.
The exhibition features the work of three Australian artists Jennifer and Rod Marshall and John Bradley.
The works created by the Marshalls depict the actual events in both the Boer War and WWI.
Bradley’s collection of works covers the Light Horse in the Boer War, World War I, World War II, Vietnam and the Afghanistan conflicts.
The exhibition will remain on show until April 27.
