The plans, which have been lodged with Maitland City Council, show Myer to be on two levels in the $350 million upgrade.
A letter from council sent to nearby residents this week noted that key access points to the shopping centre had not been changed, but the plans included a new car park entry from Stronach Avenue.
A colonnade and town square near the dining precinct that fronts Mitchell Drive were included in the plans, as were extra ground level car parks at the rear of the site, minor reductions to floor space in Myer and a discount department store proposed for Molly Morgan Drive.
There will be 24,926 square metres of specialty retail space and the number of car parks will more than double to 3203.
Green Hills centre manager Chris Travers said the centre was one of the most popular and productive shopping facilities in the Stockland portfolio.
He said the new plans contained only minor changes.
“The centre currently includes a major Woolworths, Coles and Big W outlets as well as 90 specialty stores and a very popular food court,” Mr Travers said.
“We’re looking forward to starting our redevelopment of the centre next year.”
Cr Bob Geoghegan said the creation of 2100 jobs when the upgrades were complete would be a major boost for the region.
“They are not substantial changes from what was proposed before in the previous development application,” he said.
“I think there are a lot of people looking forward to it. It shows a great deal of confidence in the town by Stockland.”
Councillors approved Stockland’s last set of plans in October, 2011.
The new plans will be open for public comment until June 19 at council’s administration building in High Street or at the various council libraries.
Construction is expected to begin in 2015.
