The ball is in aid of Camp Quality and both young women are avid volunteers at the Newcastle branch’s activities for sick children and their families.
“Teagan and I help take them and their siblings on camp,” Miss Varley said. “If they can forget about their nasties for even five minutes, it’s worthwhile.
“And it gives the parents some relief too.”
Miss Varley is an avid supporter of cancer charities since the disease claimed her dad, Tim Varley, three years ago.
“That’s when I got involved in Camp Quality,” she said.
And she’s supported other events including the Maitland Relay for Life and the Friends of Palliative Care Walkathon at Tocal.
Tickets to the ball are $120 and include a three-course meal and either beer or wine.
People can book a table with friends or organisers can form a table for couples and singles who want to join in.
The dress code is formal and there will be prizes for best dressed male and female and a lucky door prize.
A silent auction, raffle and other fund-raising initiatives will take place at the ball on Saturday, July 19; doors open at 6pm.
For more information or to book your ticket call either Teagan Luckner on 0423 696 828 or Rhiannon Varley 0401 161 746.
All proceeds go to Camp Quality Newcastle.
