Council encourages residents and business owners to contribute to the development of a 20-year waste management strategy for the city at a community workshop at Maitland Town Hall today.
Workshops will be held at 1pm and 5.30pm to allow as many people as possible to attend.
“During the workshops, council will identify the values of residents and businesses when it comes to waste and identify key goals they would like to see included in the waste management strategy,” development and environment manager David Simm said.
“Council encourages residents to come along, participate in the workshop and contribute to the overall vision and solutions for Maitland’s future waste management.”
The workshops are part of council’s Let’s Talk Less Waste engagement program, designed to explore the community’s vision for future waste management and key drivers for decision making.
Residents unable to attend a workshop can participate in the survey at maitlandyoursay.com.au and share their views.
The public comment period finishes on August 1 at 5pm.
