Police have seized drugs and a large quantity of property alleged to have been stolen after a man was arrested and charged with numerous offences in Cessnock.

Items worth thousands of dollars were seized and were being sorted at Maitland police station yesterday.
These included a Yamaha YZ450 motorcycle, nine chainsaws, a crate containing about a dozen power drills, a petrol generator and a large television.
“About 4pm on Tuesday, police attached to Central Hunter Target Action Group stopped and searched a man returning from Sydney to Cessnock,” a police spokesman said.
“Police allegedly located six grams of heroin.
“Investigations led to the execution of a search warrant about 4.30pm at a home in Alkira Avenue in Cessnock.
“During the search, police seized a large quantity of suspected stolen property, including electric power tools.
“Officers also allegedly seized cannabis leaf and cannabis seeds,” the spokesman said.
A 48-year-old man was charged with driving while unlicensed, possessing a prohibited drug, supplying an indictable amount of a prohibited drug, receiving stolen goods, four counts of supplying prohibited drugs and supplying a prohibited drug on an ongoing basis.
He was granted conditional bail to appear in Cessnock Local Court on Wednesday, August 13.
Police said it would take a few days to sort through the property that had been seized.
