A Team Scotland supporter was escorted out of her seat by police for holding up a saltire (St Andrew’s cross) with the word “yes” on it.
The woman also had a “yes” badge located on her handbag and police said no political messages were to be displayed inside the centre.
Scotland holds an independence referendum on September 18 with the nation divided on whether to remain linked to the monarch or break free from the United Kingdom.
Still at the pool and one of the newest Scottish swimming stars Daniel Wallace stole the show on the final night at Tollcross.
Wallace made a kilted entrance on the deck, much to the delight of the crowd, before going on to claim his third medal of the Commonwealth Games.
The 200 metre individual medley silver followed another silver with the 4x200m freestyle relay team and gold in the 400m IM, which saw him shout out a William Wallace “freedom” style celebration.
Scotland has surpassed its previous best tallies for gold and overall medals for a Commonwealth Games.
At the end of day six the Scots’ “medal avalanche” had 13 gold surpassing the 11 picked up in Melbourne eight years ago, and 35 in total, going past the 33
collected last time they were host nation in Edinburgh 1986.
It has been hard not to get swept away in the excitement, enthusiasm and patriotism on display in and around the streets of Glasgow.
