Branch members decided to support Carrie’s Place because it helps women and children live free from violence.
“Carrie’s Place helps women and children to live independently and free from violence so the decision to donate $1000 was a relatively easy one for Hunter Coalfields Ulysses,” president Bill Ingall said.
“The donation will support the many outreach programs offered by Carrie’s Place that support women and children in the Lower Hunter area.”
Each year the Hunter Coalfields branch chooses a charity to support.
The Hunter Coalfields branch meets at Kearsley Hotel on the first Thursday of every month for a social meeting where members can get together for a bit of fun, raise funds for charity and of course, talk bikes.
“We also organise rides, usually on a Sunday, to various locations around the Hunter Valley and also schedule a few weekend rides to places a bit more distant, like our recent Xmas in July at Walcha,” Mr Ingall said.
