They have added something new and exciting – a chocolate lounge – to tempt your tastebuds.
Popular Maitland chef Gavin Forman from the Old George and Dragon Restaurant will entice festival goers with all things chocolate at the Fox and Hound Chocolate Lounge.
“There will be a lot more chocolate than ever with dessert tastings and all manner of sweet things,” Mr Forman said.
“Council said they wanted something different this year, so our chocolate lounge will be offering all sorts of delights.”
It’s wonderful to see the organisers throwing up new ideas rather than rolling out the same format each year and it is hoped the chocolate lounge is a winner.
Variety is the spice of life and festival goers will not be short on choice this year.
Throw in plenty of musical entertainment and the chance to taste some of the best coffee and hot chocolate the Hunter’s baristas have to offer and you have the perfect way to treat yourself and the family on Saturday or Sunday.
Those with a sweet tooth will need to check out Hunter TAFE teacher Rick Glas’s cake-making and chocolate-making demonstrations while Maitland chef Daniel Kibble is also likely to attract a big crowd on Saturday at 10am when he unravels the secrets of making the traditional Italian dessert tiramisu.
The festival, which is now in its sixth year, will set up in the Riverside Car Park for the first time while work progresses on the transformation of the Heritage Mall into The Levee project in central Maitland.
It promises to be a great weekend.
