Police searched the man's Doyle Street home about 2pm on Tuesday and seized an unspecified quantity of a substance believed to be methamphetamine, commonly known as "ice".
Detectives, from the Central Hunter Target Action Group, also found a large quantity of items that they believe to be stolen property.
Police charged the 32-year-old with eight offences including drug possession and supply as well as dealing with the proceeds of crime.
Central Hunter crime manager Detective Inspector John Zdrilic said the arrest was a good result for proactive policing in the Hunter.
He said police would allege that most or all of the property was stolen in exchange for drugs.
Items seized included gold jewellery and push-bikes.
The man was released on conditional bail and will appear at Cessnock local court on September 3.
