A feature of the gallery since 2010, the exhibition provides an opportunity for Maitland, Hunter and Central Coast students - aged between five and 15 years - to work with their teachers to submit works to be considered for the gallery.
In conjunction with the About FACE exhibition, the gallery's artist in residence Rachel Milne will paint a series of portraits in the Art Factory.
"It is a rare opportunity even for gallery staff to see an artist at work. Asking Rachel to make her work inside the gallery enables students to make the connection between the work they make in school art rooms and that made by a professional artist in the studio," gallery deputy director Brigette Uren said.
"It also offers an exclusive, personal and tangible experience not common to other galleries."
