There are three weeks left until applications close for the NSW Seniors Week Grants program, to be awarded during next year’s Seniors Week.
Maitland MP Robyn Parker said more than 250,000 seniors participated in the annual week of events across NSW.
“Events can be cultural, musical, food driven or educational – whatever the event is, it is a celebration of our seniors and their commitment to our community,” she said.
“This year, in order to leverage the reach and participation of seniors in our community, the NSW government has increased funding from a maximum of $1000 to up to $5000 per applicant.
“This is our opportunity to thank our seniors for the great contribution they have made and continue to make in our community.
“If you are planning an event to be held during 2015 NSW Seniors Week, I encourage you to submit an application.”
Seniors Week is a government-endorsed celebration for people aged over 60.
Next year’s Seniors Week will be held from 14 to 22 March.
Applications for the NSW Seniors Week Grants program close on September 19 and must be submitted online at www.nswseniorsweek.com.au
