The Red Dogs have six entries and the Goannas five in age group showdowns from under 10s to under 16s.

Three of the West Maitland sides – under-10, under-12 and under-14 – will feature in division one deciders while Cessnock will have a crack at top tier titles in under 10s and under 16s.

Thornton Beresfield also have dual aspirants in division one – under-11 and under-15 – while East Maitland has a chance in first division of the under 12s.

Kurri Kurri, Dungog, Morpeth and Woodberry will also be represented in lower divisions.

The Hunter Valley Junior Rugby League (under 13s to under 18s) will hold their grand finals on Saturday at three venues being Cessnock’s Baddely Park, Maitland Sportsground and Bower Park.

The Maitland and District Schoolboy Rugby League (under 10s to under 12s) will host their grand finals at Maitland Sportsground on Sunday.

Play starts at 9am both days.
