The school held its inaugural sports presentation yesterday with Hunter awarded the top gong after contesting the NSW All Schools Football Championships.
The year 10 student, who also represented the school football and futsal sides, said it was an unexpected surprise to receive the prize
“It was pretty exciting,” the NSW Combined High Schools representative said.
“I wasn’t expecting it and then bam, there it was.”
Hunter has also experienced sporting success outside of the school realm recently with her Under-18 Emerging Jets side claiming the Northern NSW Women’s Premier League grand final.
The Jets recorded a 5-2 victory against minor premiers and favourites Adamstown late last month on the back of a week-long national tournament for the Jets in Canberra.
Hunter will continue training with the Jets over summer and is aiming to break into the W-League squad for 2015-2016.
