Senorita Ice comes off back-to-back wins and the number three will be tough to beat for Holmesville trainer David Richardson.
The two-year-old bitch stopped the clock at 22.46 seconds last start at Maitland on August 21 and will be out to recapture that form this afternoon.
Barb’s Kiwi (box two) has also been around that mark (22.49s) previously for Salt Ash trainer Warren Kelly but not since April 24.
Two of the main threats will come from out wide through Louise McGee’s Lochinvar duo Sweeney’s First (box seven) and Revlon Babe (box eight).
Sweeney’s First has won twice previously at Maitland, on May 15 and June 5, while Revlon Babe, which has a track-best 22.39s over the same distance, returns from a five-week spell.
Fire Elusive, Lynchis and Wallamba Buzz round out the field in boxes one, four and five respectively while Silent Battle (box six) has been scratched.
Club sponsorship and promotions manager Fred Robertson’s best bet of the day opens the program in box three with Qualia To Excel.
First race jumps at 3.52pm.
Maitland will also host a 10-race meeting tomorrow.
