And the kids are ecstatic.
The people eater will rock out to Michael Jackson’s Thriller and the Time Warp when the school musical – Monster’s Primary School – kicks off today.
A staff member wrote the musical that sees monsters accept challenges and take risks to achieve a reward.
“The plot is centred around our school values: commitment, respect and responsibility,” principal Cathy Watt said.
“[The kids] have loved it.”
The school has slimed teachers and sold monster badges to promote the show, which features performances from the school’s 300 students.
“It’s a great thing for the whole school working together,” Ms Watt said.
“We’re all having fun with it.”
Directed by teacher Jane Power, the musical was a collaborative effort from students, staff and parents.
The show will take place at the school again tonight after opening on Tuesday night.
