The competition is designed to increase the liveability of communities in NSW for carers, older people and people with disability.
“I encourage Maitland council to submit the most innovative and impacting projects to receive a share of $600,000 NSW government funding,” Maitland MP Robyn Parker said.
“Entries will not just be assessed on their innovation, but the size of their impact on the community, the extent of community engagement and the way in which they are backed up by evidenced need. This is a great competition .”
Ms Parker said that being in a liveable community means living without physical or mental barriers in place, where everyone considers the vulnerable to ensure physical accessibility and social inclusion.
“It makes for a happy and healthy community overall,” Ms Parker said.
Entries are now open and close on December 12.
