The sale is a popular event on the gallery’s social and fund-raising calendar and this year will be no exception, with a vibrant and dynamic collection of artwork up for grabs.
The 2014 Director’s Choice will also be the last for gallery director Joe Eisenberg, who will leave the gallery next year.
“This is Joe Eisenberg’s last Director’s Choice exhibition and one to be celebrated,” the gallery’s deputy director Brigette Uren said.
“Over the last few years, the event has raised several thousands of dollars which has helped the gallery with the facilitation of educational activities, exhibitions and the collection itself.
“The artwork is of excellent value for the astute buyer and is a true reflection of Joe’s standing in the industry.”
The sale features more than 300 fine art prints and artworks represented by a number of Sydney galleries, as well as the Newcastle Printmakers Studio and includes pieces by artists including Wendy Sharpe, Salvatore Zofrea, Guy Warren, Tony Ameneiro, Judy Watson, Kerrie Lester, Edith Cowlishaw, Judy Cassab, David Rankin and Charles Blackman.
Prints will be sold mostly unframed and purchased pieces will be available for collection after Sunday, October 6.
The sale will be held at the gallery from 6pm to 8pm.
