Maitland City Council's application for $9.9 million from the Resources for Regions fund to be spent on The Levee project has been shortlisted, the government has announced.
Council's application was one of 13 projects from mining affected areas competing for a share of the money, with grant winners expected to be announced later this year.
Maitland MP Robyn Parker said the multi-million dollar mall revamp would be a game changer for the city.
