Four heats of the Mercury series will be run with the top two finishers in each race to progress to the final on October 9.
Zipping Alyssa looks to be the one to beat in heat four after producing a quality performance trial last week.
The fawn bitch from William Bright’s Neath kennel finished the 400m journey in 25.4 seconds and a repeat performance will have her amongst the front runners.
Two heats of the BetEasy Maitland to City series will also be run in races five and six.
The top four in each race will progress to the final at Wentworth Park on October 10.
Elsewhere, Jason Mackay’s will hope Zipping Oscar can make it two wins from as many starts when he lines up in race seven.
The black dog won a maiden at Maitland a fortnight ago in 25.35 and will be hard to beat.
Maitland Greyhound Club sponsorship and promotions manager Fred Robertson said it would be an excellent meeting.
“We don’t generally get four heats so we’re very happy with that,” he said.
Robertson’s best bet of the day was Zipping Alyssa in race four.
Racing starts at 3.37pm.
