Lechner’s passion for photography and desire to explore has led him to travel the world to capture breathtaking images.
He has visited Cambodia, France, Iceland and the Czech Republic in pursuit of the perfect shot.
The Iceland Collection is a carefully curated selection of images taken during Lechner’s time there.
He started with 5000 images and selected 26 to feature in the exhibition.
“Iceland has always been in my top five places to shoot because of its stunning natural beauty and contrasting landscapes.
“I was inspired by the loneliness, isolation and beauty of the country.
“Iceland is a raw, barren, and harsh place, but that is why it is so beautiful.
“Trees barely grow, grass thrives in the spring sun but freezes in the winter snow. The landscape is inspiring.”
The Iceland Collection launch will be held on Saturday, October 18, at Four Point Gallery, 681 Hunter Street, Newcastle.
The display will be open to the public from October 16 until November 2, Thursday to Sunday from noon to 4pm.
