Kurri Kurri Tidy Towns worked closely with the library to co-ordinate the display, with most wartime memorabilia supplied by Kurri Kurri RSL committee member Eric Keggan.
Many of the photos and historic information are from Kurri Kurri Tidy Towns’ Visions of Yesteryear collection.
“The library is pleased to support local groups such as Kurri Kurri Tidy Towns and Kurri Kurri RSL” Kurri Kurri Library team leader Karen Bruce said.
“This wonderful display has generated so much interest in the community, we have chosen to extend the display until the end of October” Karen said.
With the extended viewing time of the display, members of the public are also invited to contribute any wartime memorabilia they may have.
If you would like a photo of your loved one in uniform displayed, please contact Kurri Kurri Tidy Town president Beth Masterman, on 4937 2603.
The display can be seen at Kurri Kurri Library on the corner of Lang and Allworth streets until late October.
