PATERSON v DUNGOG
Dungog won the battle of A-grade newcomers against Paterson on Saturday courtesy of a double-century opening stand.
Andrew Bashford and skipper Brady Rumbel piled on 204 for the first wicket at Paterson Sportsground as the visitors made 2-227 from their 40 overs.
Bashford brought up his ton before being dismissed for 100, with Rumbel following four runs later on 80.
Facing an almost run-a-ball chase, Paterson made a fist of it with opener Mitchell White striking six boundaries on his way to 77.
But in the end the hosts fell 20 runs short and finished eight wickets down when their innings closed.
PORT STEPHENS v CHELMSFORD HOTEL
Chelmsford Hotel claimed their first big scalp of the A-grade summer by upsetting title holders Port Stephens at King Park 5 on Saturday.
Chelmsford Hotel successfully defended their 112 when they dismissed the hosts for 91 in the 33rd over.
Bradley Brien (3-13) took three of the last four wickets as Port Stephens capitulated in sight of the target losing 4-1 in the closing stages.
Chelmsford Hotel skipper Aaron Follan finished with figures of 2-8 after top-scoring with 24 earlier in the day.
Darren Morrison was the standout performer for Port Stephens taking 4-19 from 6.3 overs and top scoring with 24.
WINDSOR CASTLE v TENAMBIT MORPETH
Shane Price, Jarrod Bailey and Andrew Webeck helped last season’s minor premiers Windsor Castle to a comfortable 110-run victory against Tenambit Morpeth at Shamrock Hill on Saturday.
Price took 6-36 as the Stallions dismissed the Bulls for 99 in 26 overs after Bailey scored 86 at the top of the order in Windsor Castle’s total of 9-209.
Webeck chipped in with both bat and ball for the Stallions making 49, including seven fours and a six, and taking a caught and bowled on the way to figures of 1-10.
Umar Javaid (4-40) was the best in a beaten side for Tenambit Morpeth.
RAWORTH v REGAL HUNTER
Raworth skipper Chris Murphy scored his second successive half-century in continuing the Rabbitohs unbeaten start to the season.
Murphy made 66 from 54 deliveries against Regal Hunter at Blackhill on Saturday to follow up his 61 from last week.
Raworth ended up 9-199 from their 40 overs with opener Leigh Williams (43) and No.8 Mitchell Thompson (37 not out) also contributing.
Ryan Lacy completed another impressive all-round display for Raworth with figures of 2-47 to sit alongside his 33.
Regal Hunter were dismissed 52 runs shy for 147 after 28 overs with Brenden Reichel (36) top scoring.
The best bowling figures were 4-37 produced by the Rabbitohs Tim Campbell.
