It’s a great time of year with the Champions League, World Series and preparations for the Four Nations, just to name a few sporting events capturing my attention.
But watching the Greek tragedy of the Wallabies is a bit too much like a snuff film for my liking.
The Four Nations is a chance for our national sporting pride to be restored, so keeping up with the opposition is really a bit like our national duty.
But sometimes things can be a bit lost in translation.
Josh Carnley and Josh Hodgson’s interview for Super League TV on the English team’s preparations for their first Four Nation’s clash against Samoa could have benefited from subtitles for southern hemisphere fans.
Thick northern English accents can be a tad hard to understand.
But from what I could pick up, they seem pretty happy, but might want to grab some sunscreen.

While the Red Sox season has been long dead – to be honest, it was looking decidedly sick soon after it started – the World Series is surely one of the best times of the year.
If the game isn’t enough, the antics of the fans is brilliant.
Tweet or google the San Francisco Giants or Kansas City Royals and you’ll quickly see what I’m talking about.
Our photo montage is a bit of entree to start your search.
And for Red Sox fans just a little reminder of better times.
I’m not a betting man, but if you got on Bayern Munich to win the Champions League you would be pretty happy.
Bayern’s odds will certainly tumble after their 7-1 demolition of Roma.
