The celebrated alt-country artist has been diagnosed with small nodules and inflammation on her vocal cords.

Chambers, who was due to visit Wests Leagues Club on Sunday, November 23, will undergo vocal therapy during the next few months to repair the damage and attempt to avoid surgery.

New dates have been announced for next year, but a new Hunter headline show has not been confirmed.

“I’m so disappointed that I will have to postpone the Bittersweet Tour due to two small nodules on my vocal chords," Chambers says.

"Doctors have advised that I lighten my workload considerably for a little while to give them a chance to heal but luckily, if I take their advice, no surgery is needed.

"Thank you for the support over the last year, with some rest and ‘no yelling at the kids to clean their room’, I’ll be back on track in no time!”

Ticket holders for Chambers' Newcastle show next month will remain valid for the rescheduled performance, but refunds are also available.

Chambers will support The Eagles at Hope Estate on Saturday, March 7 and then return to the same venue as one of the headline acts for the inaugural Campfire Festival on Friday, March 13.
