Kelly Richards and Natasha Scott, hero of Raymond Terrace’s triples triumph, were defeated 17-11 by Neutral Bay’s Jenny Palmer and Lynne Thompson in the round of 16.
The latest result ends Scott’s campaign, which climaxed on Tuesday when she delivered Raymond Terrace three points on her final bowl to claim the state triples title despite trailing Charlestown by two going into the final end of the decider.
Richards, however, will stay on to contest the singles division and she will face Warilla’s Julea Morgan first up tomorrow.
Earlier in the tournament the Raymond Terrace fours team, including both Richards and Scott, had been eliminated in the round of 16.
Raymond Terrace qualified for all four disciplines after completing a clean sweep of the Regional Championships held in Maitland in July.
