City United skipper Matthew Trappel will be joined by Western Suburbs all-rounder Mark Curran, Norths duo Lincoln Mills and Josh Callinan.
Cessnock, who defeated Maitland on Sunday in a fixture which doubled for John Bull Shield and SCG Country Shield, had five players picked for Hunter Valley.
Brent Watson and form all-rounder Greg Sheehan, who were Hunter Valley’s only Central North representatives last summer, will play alongside Cessnock teammates Josh Dagg, Damien Frize and Drew Olsen.
Singleton trio Jacob Carey, Joe Leighton and wicketkeeper Luke Knight round out the 12-man squad.
Hunter Valley will attempt to win back the McNamara Cup, which Tamworth secured at Lorn Park last year, after holding it in 2011 and 2012.
The fixture will also double as a selection trial for the Central North side to contest the Northern NSW Country Championships in Ballina from November 21 to 23.
Maitland’s under-21 side will begin their Colts title defence on Sunday with a Hunter Valley Cricket Council fixture against Cessnock at Lorn Park.
Maitland’s three junior representative sides will also be in action at home on Sunday against Dungog.
