Adams, 22, will be the eldest participant from hosts Maitland Pony Club while Olivia Moy will be the youngest at five years of age.
Maitland and Zone 25 chief instructor Shiralee Adams, mother of Alexis, said there was a sense of anticipation among the riders.
“All the kids are really excited,” Shiralee said.
“It’s only Alexis who has been to a Jamboree before, but for all the other kids this will be their first.
“We have a lot of new riders and they are itching to get out there.”
Shiralee said the Maitland Pony Club had experienced an encouraging resurgence in recent times.
“The club had a bit of a lean trot there for a while,” she said.
“We dropped down to three members, so now we are a relatively new club because a lot of the members haven’t had a lot to do with the club before.
“We are up to 15 or 20 now, which is good, but we are still a relatively little club.”
Maitland Pony Club, which celebrated a 60th anniversary in recent years, will house riders from the 16 clubs which make up Zone 25.
This area incorporates Bulahdelah, Gloucester, Gresford, Raymond Terrace, Nelson Bay, Wallsend, Mount Hutton, Cessnock and of course Maitland.
Saturday’s competition will involve showjumping, sporting classes and a stockman’s challenge.
Sunday’s competition will include hacking, riding, and pairs, while a march past and supreme exhibition of champions will precede the tournament presentation.
Action will go from 8.30am to 4pm on Saturday and from 7.30am to 3pm on Sunday.
The Zone 25 presentation night will be held at Maitland Pony Club’s Bradley Park facilities on Anambah Road on Saturday night.
