The East Maitland firm is in the running for an Excellence in Small Business award in the under-20 employees category.
“A win would recognise the team’s huge effort over the past four years,” founder Gavin Bottrell said.
“It would be a huge honour to win this award.”
Bottrell is an accounting firm that specialises in advice for businesses.
The Hunter Business Chamber picked Bottrell for its excellence award earlier this year from a strong field of contenders. It qualified the team in the state finals.
The awards consider such criteria as marketing, quality assurance and customer satisfaction.
“It’s a coup for an accounting firm to be a finalist,” Mr Bottrell said.
“Bottrell Business Consultants is an award-winning business because it is not [staffed with] your typical accountants, but rather a dynamic, fast-paced and technologically savvy team that is up to date with the latest legislative changes, and go the extra mile for their clients.”
The Excellence in Small Business award recognises a business that has attained significant growth and is able to demonstrate the specific strategies and processes implemented to achieve sustainable growth during the previous 12 to 24 months.
The award ceremony will take place at The Pavillion at Darling Harbour on Friday night.
