The All Saints College, St Peter’s Campus, Maitland students, who have been dancing since the age of three, made it through a rigorous audition process to perform at the opening ceremony in Lake Macquarie in December.
Lake Macquarie City Council invited parents and friends to Charlestown Square last weekend for a showcase of the local talent selected to perform.
“In June, we hosted a showcase of the singers who will perform at the opening ceremony and it was well received,” mayor of Lake Macquarie, Jodie Harrison said.
“It is a wonderful opportunity for our community to get a taste of what the full-scale event will be like.”
The International Children’s Games is the largest multi-sport youth games in the world and is a recognised member of the International Olympic Committee.
About 1500 athletes between 12 and 15 years of age, and their coaches, participate in this prestigious event each year.
The 2014 Lake Macquarie International Children’s Games will be held from December 6 to 11.
