The Jets meet defending champions the Kurri Kurri Cannons in a do-or-die semi-final at Raymond Terrace Bowling Club on Friday night after being downed by the Soldiers Point Dolphins in Wednesday’s opening play-off.
The Cannons progressed to the second lot of semis following a triumph over the Nelson Bay Marlins on Wednesday while the Valentine Lakers took out the equivalent fixture to end the 2014 campaign of the Charleston Tigers.
In the final first-round result minor premiers the Ettalong Eagles are now one win away from a shot in the decider after a mid-week success against the East Cessnock Comets, who now host Valentine in a knockout fixture on Friday night.
Matches start at 6pm.
