The Service NSW Maitland Service Centre is one of the 24 one-stop-shops the state government has rolled out since July 2013.
The centre on Garnett Road has served 500 people a day on average in its first week of operation.
“Our aim is to make it a positive customer experience,” centre manager Adam Whipper said.
More and more bills are being paid online compared to the past and while not everyone has computers or the knowledge to use them the service centre is designed to help people through that process.
About 40 per cent of customers who have used the Maitland service so far have given it a 95 per cent satisfaction rating by completing a quick survey as they leave.
The Maitland service centre is open 7am to 7pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 3pm on Saturdays.
“The extended trading hours are a huge bonus for residents and businesses in Maitland as they enable people to visit the centre to make transactions outside their normal working hours,” Maitland MP Robyn Parker said.
Hunter Business Chamber director Steve Thomson represented the business community at an inspection of the facilties on Friday.
