Charges have been laid over two fires in the Wallaroo State Forest earlier this year.
Port Stephens detectives, with the assistance of State Crime Command Arson Squad and Rural Fire Service Fire Investigators, have been investigating a number of deliberately lit bushfires in the Wallaroo State Forest since September.
No one was injured and no property was damaged as a result of the fires.
Investigations led to the arrest of a 17-year-old Raymond Terrace male on Thursday. The Rural Fire Service volunteer was taken to Raymond Terrace police station where he was interviewed.
