The three Travis children, Natalie, 21, Melissa, 16, and Scott, 12, have spent a combined total of 17 continuous years at the school, each starting at preschool, and have set a school record.
Scott finished year 6 on a high note as vice-captain and was called upon to deliver the end-of-year school speech.
“It has always felt right to be here,” Mrs Travis said.
“Each of my children started here at preschool and went through to year 6.
“Every time I had a new baby the teachers would have a cuddle.
“I was involved with canteen, reading assistance, transporting students and sewing for performances.
“I will miss my time here. Each of my children always had good teachers.”
The family paid an emotional tribute to Telarah Public School teacher, the late Judith Tilbrook, who inspired Natalie to become a teacher.
“I have always wanted to be a primary school teacher because of Mrs Tilbrook,” Natalie said.
“She taught me in year 1 in 2000 then took me in for work experience when I was in year 10.
“She was a beautiful lady and a great teacher.”
Natalie is heading into her fourth year study for a teaching degree.
Melissa always liked attending Telarah school and was involved in all activities including public speaking, debating, Star Struck performance and won major roles in school musicals.
She was also a member of the school’s year 6 soccer team, which placed third in the state.
Melissa attends Rutherford High School and would like to work with people with disabilities.
Scott wants to be a professional football player and never leaves home without a ball at his feet.
“I play for Broadmeadow Magic and I was in all the sports at school – AFL, NRL, hockey, touch football, cricket, soccer and cross country, and I play chess as well.”
